Update: As of October 2019, we decided to come off of the road and settle down in WV.
NY boy meets WV girl on the dance floor in Myrtle Beach, SC. Keli was there for a bachelorette party and me for a bachelor party (2 different weddings). Our groups hit it off well, and Keli and I hit it off REALLY well! We hung out in Myrtle for the rest of the weekend and thus began our long distance relationship.
We would fly or drive back and forth every couple of weekends to see each other until we decided to get engaged and both move to Virginia Beach. We then moved to Keli’s hometown in WV for a few years. We decided that we needed more opportunities such as jobs, restaurants & entertainment and moved to Fort Mill, SC. After some fertility assistance, our son was born there in 2017 (a lot of people don’t talk about this issue, but we are here to say you’re not alone., not even close). We then found new jobs in Columbia, SC and moved there.
By now you can see why we say we have “ants in our pants” 😊
Our story then becomes somewhat similar to others; we were each working 50-60 hours per week, barely seeing our son and when we did he was either in bed already or continually sick from daycare. Keli landed a work from home job which enables me to stay home with our son, cook our meals and have many freedoms such as going to the beach at lunchtime, leave at noon on Friday for a long weekend to beat all of the traffic, go back to the gym, or just enjoy some coffee while watching SportsCenter 3 times in a row!
